Sharks devour Tigers
By Jose Mari Hall Lanuza

Proving their supremacy, the Senior Blue Sharks Volleyball Boys Team overpowered the Sophomore Yellow Tigers Volleyball Boys Team, 25-19, in the Makati Science High School Intramurals Volleyball Boys Championship, Sept. 29.
.
The unstoppable tandem of Sharks’ spiker, Andrew Diaz Villar, and setter, Joel Edward Berces Cardinal, crushed the Tigers’ defense as Villar spiked his way relentlessly through them, giving him a total of 23 kills in the first and second sets.
.
The Tigers, coming from a heart-breaking two-set loss, retaliated with greatly placed drops and unpredictable returns through Lawrence Cui Riodeque’s leadership, sending the game to a fourth set with a score of 21-25.

However, threatened by the sudden shift in momentum during the third set, the Sharks showed an impressive performance as they took command over the Tigers with unrelenting offense, ending the set and game 25-19.
.
Aggressive offense, relentless attacks and hustles, as well as loud cheers from their audience proved to be the key factors for the Sharks to bring home the coveted title.
.
Villar, Cardinal, and Aristotle Pichay of the Sharks; and Riodeque, Duff Zachary Dela Paz Reña, and Jonathan Rod Sitchon De Guzman of the Tigers composed the Mythical Six while Villar copped the Most Valuable Player plum.
