EVERYTHING WAS WORTH it.
After passing a battery of tests and attending a series of lectures and trainings conducted by the Mathematics Trainers Guild of the Philippines (MTGP), Joel Edward Berces Cardinal of III-Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, Best in Mathematics II awardee, brought home the bacon from the China Junior High School Mathematics Olympiad at the Hebei Experimental Middle School, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, People’s Republic of China, Aug. 6 and 7.
Cardinal received two third places from the mathematics olympiad—one competition that required no solution and another competition that required complete solution—which are both individual categories.
“I usually had headaches before because of my hectic schedule, but everything was worth it. The MTGP has helped me a lot,” Cardinal said in an interview with The Makati Science Vision.
Cardinal underwent rigorous tests and laborious trainings, such as the MTGP In-house Intensive Training Program and the Mathematics Olympiad Summer Training Program. |
